FIG helps local college prepare for new academic year

In a competitive market, the prospectus is often the first point of contact for prospective students, and as a result it not only needs to provide information about the college, but also give a taste of college life and the personality of the college.

Here at FIG, we work closely with Buxton & Leek College (BLC) each year to produce an enrolment campaign for the new academic year. Work started in April, with a meeting to discuss feedback from the previous year’s prospectus from staff and students. This also gave BLC the opportunity to highlight the college’s focus for the new academic year, to help inform the new design and messaging.

Within the education sector, and particularly in Further Education (FE), there is an ever increasing focus on career pathways and progression opportunities. We wanted to incorporate this into this year’s prospectus branding, with the key messaging ‘Your Future Starts Here’. To link with this change in messaging, we also added career related sections for each course area within the prospectus to give the reader an idea of the future progression opportunities available for different sectors. We included future progression opportunities, information on average wages, an insight into the careers available after courses and Labour Market Information (LMI) regarding the predicated opportunities available over the next 5 years.

The prospectus launches the new branding for BLC. As part of the branding, we’ve also created online adverts, Snapchat gifs, AdVans and billboards, so keep an eye out for some of those.
