It’s not often in marketing that you can create a campaign with the sole objective of sparking joy and spreading a little bit of cheer. Marketing campaigns usually have specific objectives and targets, such as gaining more followers over social accounts or lead generation, for example. These campaigns offer tangible metrics which can be measured and compared against and are really important for our clients’ marketing activities.
However, Random Act of Kindness Day provides you with the chance to just do something nice, for absolutely no reason at all, and for no reward other than the warm, fuzzy feeling you get from being kind, so it was great that our Marketing Partners, iBottles, wanted to do something to celebrate it.
The team at iBottles randomly selected several customers to receive a surprise package from them (one of their Mushroom Jars packed full of delicious sweets), and FIG got to work to make it happen. Firstly, we photographed the sweets in the jars as part of some teaser social posts, ordered ‘on-brand’ blue envelopes to send them out in, and designed branded stickers to go on the jars and envelopes and a personalised letter to thank each recipient for their business throughout the year.
We designed social imagery to go out throughout the day which hinted to the fact that treats were being delivered to customers and that random acts of kindness were also taking place in-house too, such as treating the staff to chocolates to enjoy with their afternoon tea break.
With vibrant, eye-catching imagery, the social posts looked great and iBottles received several messages from their customers to say thank you for the surprise and that it had made them smile, which was after all, the whole objective of the campaign!
