Santa’s Out of Office might still be switched on, but it doesn’t mean that ours is. The FIG elves are already hard at work on Christmas campaigns – and it’s time you started thinking about yours.
December may seem ages away, especially whilst the nights are still light and warm, but it’ll be here before you know it, so don’t let it catch you unaware. With 54% of marketeers starting their seasonal planning in Q2 and Q3, it’s time to put your festive thinking cap on and get thinking about this year’s Christmas campaign – especially if you want to make Santa’s good list!
There are so many things you can do in order to not only celebrate Christmas with your staff and customers, but to communicate important information that they will need to know during the festive period. Think about quick and easy activities such as email signatures, blogs and social posts which are an eye-catching way to promote your seasonal opening hours, alongside bigger projects such as mailers and emailshots to promote your festive offers, events and gift guides to your customer base, or even a company Christmas card (printed or digital) to send out to your valued customers and prospects – there’s no shortage of festive-themed marketing activity you can do and it’s a great way to create a bit of a buzz about your company, build excitement and ensure your brand starts 2020 with a bang. Alternatively, why not take a trip down memory lane and have a look at past Christmas campaigns FIG has worked on over the years.
Bartco UK manufactures solar powered, mobile variable message signs (VMS) for use around the world, so our Feliz Navidad campaign included a number of VMS units which had the Merry Christmas message written in different languages to encapsulate the nationwide service that Bartco delivers. This image was used across a festive email to all customers thanking them for their business and wishing them a Merry Christmas, across Bartco’s social accounts, and was printed as a Christmas card to send to key customers.
With a throwback to olden times and with a strong traditional look and feel, the Devonshire Dome’s ‘It’s a Wonderful Dome’ campaign was threaded throughout all departments, from the Café and Restaurant to the Beauty Salon and award-winning Spa. Incorporating email campaigns, social posts, web banners, leaflets and a paid social posts for an exclusive spa shopping event, the campaign was a wonderful success.
Home security system manufacturer RISCO rolled out a 12 Days of Christmas campaign to its installers, which invited them to a free Trade Counter Open Day. The first 12 customers to place an order were given the opportunity to have a go in a free prize draw where they had a chance to win great prizes such as a luxury weekend break for two. The event proved to be very popular with RISCO’s installers and created a fun and festive feeling amongst all. We carried the campaign theme across all RISCO’s seasonal marketing too, creating web banners, social images and email signatures advising of their opening hours over the holiday period.
Christmas is a time for giving, so it was nice to work on a campaign designed to give back to the community. LabelsPlus wanted to run a campaign which not only gave back to their loyal customer base, but that also benefitted a charitable cause. FIG worked with them to devise a Christmas campaign to help spread awareness for the #TogetherAtChristmas campaign, an initiative set up on social media to help create awareness of, and help those living in hardship. LabelsPlus created a luxury hamper to give away to one of their customers. To enter, all they had to do was share one of LabelsPlus’ facebook posts to promote the #TogetherAtChristmas message. At the end of the campaign, a winner was picked at random, and LabelsPlus matched the value of the hamper to donate to two local charities.
